  I lost her.

  my beautiful, sweet, loving, kind grandmother passed away today.one of the only three people in my life who ever loved me unconditionally.

  at the end they tell me she was not struggling, but for weeks before that, she did.

  she suffered, horribly.

  I shall sit and cry with you.....for I know your pain. She is in your heart, the safest place to be. I believe she met God and all questions where answered. To be so loved on earth I know she found favor in Gods eyes. My Granny has a little place in my yard with a rock with her name, a little chareb angel giggling and lilly of the valley blooming every spring (her favorite flowers) I visit with her often there. Hard to believe she's been gone 10 years, please believe that it gets easier and your pain will turn to only wonderful memories. Take what she left you and be the best Grandma ever. She lives on.

  Simon and others: Inspiring Words and this Forum.

  these inspiring words will remind you how to make your dreams come true.. "through confidence and perseverance comes the ability to succeed!".

  many of you have proven that these words have inspired you to succeed in whatever endeavors you have chosen after having come out of the watchtower.. i have read simon's and many of your post's, where - in you have shown confidence, and perseverance along with the ability to succeed in whatever endeavors you have chosen for yourselves after having come out of the watchtower.

  i too, after having spent 30 years serving the watchtower, two and one half years later, after having left he watchtower, i have succeeded in passing my medical examiner's tests and am now licensed to practice in one of the many health care concerns at the young age of 60.. this shows that all of us can go on and succeed after life in the watchtower.. this forum and the many nameless persons who have posted here have been an inspiration to carry on.

  i missed most of tonights program, but i cought the last 5 minutes and the guy who was in jail for murder i believe it was, mentioned the jehovahs witnesses and he said something about them being at fault?

  the title of tonights show was....."boise, id: last dance education.

  ' the man who mentioned this was a russian.. do any of you know anything about this story?

  WH, it was Maternity Ward on The Learning Channel (TLC) on Monday at 9:00 pm. I am amazed the JW lady allowed it to be shown. Can you say "Disfellowshipped" ?

  I checked our TV guide and it is not repeating tonight. Usually those shows do though.

  Would it be hijaking your thread too much if I brought up a show I saw on Monday that kinda shocked me?

  It was a maternity show. It had a young JW woman on there and her "fiance". This was their "second" child together. She was having trouble and they wanted her permission to give blood if needed. She refused strongly saying it was against her beliefs and she had faith Jehovah would take care of it. The doctor asked the "fiance" he said yes he would let them, the girl said no. The doctor said I'll let you two discuss it. Anyway they delivered the baby C-section and the woman would not stop bleeding. She finally agreed to get blood and she recovered. I'm sure the witnesses were not pleased at the fine example she portrayed. Living in sin, having two children and a blood transfusion all in one show.

  he not only knew the woman in question (she's now deceased), he has met her numerous times.

  up until recently this secret of her year's long sexual affair with rutherford was kept by the family.

  How do you like your steak?

  before leaving the jws, i never knew what medium rare nor rare steak tasted like.

  i always had mine well done.

  i got sick of steak because it just didn't taste all that good.. after leaving, i had a steak that was medium rare.

  in another thread we've been discussing suicide..

  and how to take the threat of suicide seriously.. i was wondering if anyone whos been in abusive/controlling relationships have had a spouse threaten to kill him/herself to get you to do something their way?.

  my experience: when the ex cheated on me and i was going to leave, and he seen i was serious about leaveing he threatened to kill himself several times .

  getting real upset and turning the situation to where i had to comfort him.

  My cousin was married to a wife beater. Everytime she was on her way to leaving, he would hang himself and she would save his sorry butt just in time and she would feel bad and stay. Finally she had enough and left him.

  He was living with a woman for many years. They were fighting alot and she left him. She went back to get some things, they fought and he went into the bathroom and locked the door. I guess he got his timing wrong because she couldn't save him as usual. He died that night. He hurt alot of people, mostly his three children who totally loved him. He used hanging for years to manipulate. He finally ran out of luck. He never planned to die.

  Knowing how he beat his women, he's lucky I was never in charge of braking down the bathroom doors to save him. I would have called a locksmith and you know how long it takes to find a number in the yellow pages. My cousin and I snuck around for years to see each other because he would beat her if he knew we were together.

  i have read so many posts relating conversations or correspondance with jw's who you think just don't "get it".

  after presenting what you're sure is hard evidence against their organization, they roll their eyes and shoo you away, and you walk away thinking that they're so brainwashed they'll never see reality.. i don't remember every petty negative comment i ever heard about the org, but i'm pretty sure i remember every issue of substance i came across.

  a householder at the door explaining john 1:1, a whispered conversation about the content of c of c, an inactive person saying they'll never come back because they discovered the "truth" wasn't the truth, seeing for myself changing doctrine.

  Remembering

  i spoke with my elderly aunt yesterday about much of what i've read over this past week...catching up on the best of series...well, some of it anyhow; and her comments echoed much of what many former jw's have already spoken of.. she reminded me how many years ago when her one grandchild needed a blood transfusion and her daughter had called in a panic...my aunt simply told her to do what she felt for best for the child - not the church.

  or, the sometimes humerous stories of field service - the dreaded thought that someone might actually answer their door.

  my aunt releated how her own father had once asked if she wanted to "pioneer" and when my aunt told him, "no" my grandfather had the most shocked look on his face.
